Special Projects
Racing dash and bikini fairing
This project was suggested by a customer who is one of those weekend warrior at the track.  He was
modifying his stock Bonneville to participate in the BEARS series in Australia.  The stock dash is speedo only,
and he felt that was unnecessary for race day.  Since his bike pulls double duty as a daily rider and a
weekend racer, he needed an item that would make race day modifications easy.  Here it is... the race dash,
and small, lightless  fairing combination.
The fairing mounts directly to the headlight mounts of his Bonnie, and the dash uses the stock mounting
points.  The headlight is removed for racing.  The dash instrumentation consists of a Stewart Warner
memory tach with programmable shift light (the yellow one at the top), an Innovate air/fuel gauge, idiot lights
for oil pressure and neutral position, and three rockers for ignition circuits.  The dash plate is carbon fiber,
the fairing is carbon fiber with a polycarbonate windscreen.
Wiring for the dash is via the stock ignition harness (the keyed switch is removed.) and a new plug that is
spliced into the main instrument harness.  There are two sockets left on the bike - one for road configuration
and one for race configuration
Project "Bluebird"
The first parts are in the shop now.  We have just received our '09 GSXR 600 forks and -07 Sprint ST
swinging arm.  We will take measurements and start designing a trellis frame to connect the two.  The frame
will be made of Reynolds 631 steel tubing, and encase a new Triumph Bonneville 865 cc twin!
Bluebird has its own page, go there now!
