In days of old, steering dampers of this type were standard equipment on most British bikes. Here is a kit for your New Bonneville Motorcycle that is easy to install, clean looking, functional and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Now, I'm not saying it is better than the hydraulic dampers that are available elsewhere, but this one does work quite well, and it does not hang off the side of your bike like an accessory slide whistle. The kit consists of an attractive knurled aluminum or five lobed comfort grip plastic knob permanently fixed to a 3/8" diameter aluminum shaft, bushings, stainless steel friction plates and friction washers. Includes aluminum replacement steering top nut The tongued plate (black in the photo above) mounts to the horn fixing screw on the frame. The friction plates and washers sandwich the tongued plate and damping force is adjusted by turning the knob at the top yoke. Easily done, even while riding. Comes with complete installation instructions. Now in standard and extended lengths. The standard length works best with clip-on bars like the older Thruxton, and with standard bars with risers. The extended version works best with standard bars without risers. The photos at the top show the standard length from above. The photos below show the difference in height between the two styles from the side.
