| Based on the beautiful racing tanks on Matchless G50 and AJS 7R production racers of the 50's and 60's, this tank will look absolutely fabulous on your motorcycle. This Carbon, Kevlar, Fiberglass composite gas tank is made expressly for new Triumph Bonneville and Thruxton motorcycles. It is sized to fit on all carburetor equipped Bonneville, T100, Thruxton and Scrambler models. Modification to the stock seat is necessary, the front of the seat must be trimmed about 1. 5 inches (38mm). The tank is constructed with top notch materials: hand laid carbon harness weave fabric (for stiffness and strength), kevlar harness weave fabric (for toughness and impact resistance) and fiberglass harness weave fabric in an epoxy resin matrix. THIS IS NOT CHEAP BLOWN CHOPPED GLASS/POLYESTER. The tank has 3/8" pipe threaded fitting for Pingel Petcock, which we can supply at an extra charge. The tank is fully lined with Thermodyne Flourodyne Viton BLADDER. The bladder liner assures that fuel never comes in contact with the composite shell and adds a measure of safety not found in other tanks. Viton is impervious to contemporary fuels with alcohol and other additives... just fit up, fill up and go! Tank comes with vented cast stainless steel flush mount filler cap. Genuine Monza caps are available for an extra charge. The tank is finished ready for custom paint, or clear coated open weave carbon finish at extra charge. Painting service is also available for an extra charge; please ask. We can make the tank in capacities up to 5.0 US gallons (as shown). Smaller capacities are made by lowering the overall height of the tank during construction. Please specify the approximate capacity you desire. The stock steel 3.7 gallon Thruxton tank weighs about 11.5 lbs., the 5.0 gallon tank shown weighs only 7.7 lbs. with the cap. The overall height of the 5.0 gallon tank is approximately 9 1/2 inches (excluding the cap) which is about the same height as the stock tank. We have increased the volume by reducing the size of the tunnel, making the rear of the tank higher, and widening the bottom of the tank while keeping the overall width about the same as the stock tank. This is a serious, high quality tank that will look smashing on your ride, and give you more miles between fuel stops. Shipping is at cost to destination, no handling charge.
